Wrenches

Picture this- after years and years of stress and struggle to find yourself and find your happy place you finally find it, you feel like you are on top of the world and that life will only continue to get better; you love your life, adore the people in it, and believe that you are right where you are supposed to be. You’ve got it all figured out, and it feels good. Now imagine that a wrench gets thrown into this…. now what?

So this past week presented me with a wrench that I wasn’t expecting, and after days and days of trying to get a grip on my life again, I had a moment of peace that led to a revelation. Now, this revelation isn’t ground-breaking; its certainly something that I’ve had told to me time and time again, but truly realizing it for myself has allowed me to smile during my toughest moments and even giggle thinking about the past. Are you ready? Drumroll please…… It’s allllll going to be okay because HE is the one who is in control of my life.

How great is it to know that the utopic life that we all imagine for ourselves doesn’t even scratch the surface as compared to what our God has planned for us. *Shelby say whaaaaa?!* I KNOW, RIGHT?! that’s my exact reaction every time I think about this. Like how lucky are we that no matter the sins, no matter the wandering, the questioning, the feelings of invincibility, He will still provide for us in more ways than we could ever hope.

Isaiah 14:27 tells us, “what I have planned will take place, what I have decided will be so.” Isn’t that such a relief?! All of that stressing that we do about the details of our life, from the most grand to the most frivolous, can be handed over to Him and He will take care of it.

So this week my friends, I challenge you to find that thing, that nagging thing thats been causing you stress in your life and give it up to him. Make the conscious effort to let him take the lead on that one and rid yourself of the stress that it causes you- You will find peace, you will find hope, and you will feel love.
